5 common myths about linen clothing

Linen clothing has long been cherished for its comfort and timeless elegance. However, misconceptions surrounding this fabric can discourage people from enjoying its benefits. Since I started with LUCI, I have received feedback from many of you, questioning linen and avoiding it for all the wrong reasons. In this post, I aim to debunk these common myths, allowing you to appreciate its natural beauty and versatility.

Myth #1: Linen is only suitable for warm weather.

While linen is known for its breathability in hot weather, it is also suitable for other seasons. Its insulating properties make it a great choice for transitional weather and layering.

Myth #2: Linen wrinkles easily, making it high-maintenance.

Linen's propensity to wrinkle is part of its charm, giving it a relaxed and lived-in appearance. Modern blends and finishes minimize wrinkling, making it easier to maintain.

Myth #3: Linen is fragile and easily damaged.

Linen is a remarkably durable fabric that can withstand regular wear and tear. With proper care, linen clothing can last for years, making it a perfect sustainable choice.

Myth #4: Linen is only available in neutral colors.

Linen fabrics, same as all the others, come in vibrant hues and patterns, offering a wide range of options to suit different styles and preferences.

Myth #5: Linen can't be washed in a washing machine.

The most common one for the end. Contrary to popular belief, linen can be safely washed in a washing machine. It's recommended to use a gentle cycle and mild detergent to preserve its quality. Always refer to the care instructions on the garment for specific guidelines.

Linen's comfort, breathability, durability, and versatility make it an ideal choice for all seasons. Don't let misconceptions hold you back from experiencing the effortless elegance of linen.

I am ending it with my favourite hashtag:

#linenlove

Because that what it is :).
